He also discusses the need for proper recognition for Cachaca as currently if a spirit is made from Sugar cane juice it is classified and designated as a Rum. But many Brazilians contest this due to the fact it is not molasses based, so can’t be labelled the same way.

Taste Cachaca the Spirit of Brazil in London

Cachaca tasting sessions at the Brazil Embassy in London with Gary Hazell and Ian Burrell discussing all things Cachaca.

The event featured a presentation about history and culture around the national spirit of Brazil. This event was a trade event for the media, distributors, importers and people from the drinks to find out learn more about this Brazilian spirit.

Brands in attendance included 51, Abehla, Boca Loca, Brasilla, Bossa Nova,Cabana, Gemana, Leblon, Sagatiba, Seleta, Fazenda Soledade and Weber Haus.
